Japan has already banned certain types of phthalates in food-handling equipment, and the European Union (EU) recently banned some phthalates in cosmetics and toys. The United States does not restrict phthalates and has lobbied the EU not to increase their regulations.




  • What do flame retardants and drinking water have in common?

  • Public water may contain toxins used in rocket fuel; dry-cleaning fluids; and insect repellents. It is estimated that 40% of U.S. water does not meet standards for protecting the health of the public.

  • A little R&B can fight cancer. - Reds and blues, such as strawberries, red cabbage, sweet cherries, apples, raspberries, blueberries, plums, and blackberries.

  • Atrazine is a most commonly used herbicide in conventional farming and it has been linked to cancer and impaired fertility.
